Emily Nagel, PhD, RD, LD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Nagel's research focuses on early life exposures and later health. She leverage methods of clinical research, epidemiology, and ‘omics-based techniques to examine the interplay between stress and nutrition and their associations with growth and neurodevelopment, with the goal of optimizing these outcomes for all infants. Dr. Nagel is particularly interested in reducing health risks for preterm infants, who are susceptible to impaired growth, neurodevelopment, and the development of chronic illnesses. Her current project aims to determine the associations between maternal stress, milk composition, and infant feeding and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
