Isaac Esplin is a third-year pediatrics resident at Nationwide Children's Hospital. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics, Genomics and Biotechnology from Brigham Young University. He then completed medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His academic interests are in neonatology, and he is currently applying to fellowship programs in the specialty. His research focuses on the use of alternative forms of consent in neonatal and pediatric clinical trials. Additional scholarly work includes studies on the use of kidney support therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit and a quality improvement project aimed at standardizing the criteria for transfer to a surgical center in necrotizing enterocolitis.
