Jacquelyn Lajiness, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Indiana University. She is interested in immune-mediated preterm birth and how interactions at the maternal-fetal interface influence the development of the fetal/neonatal immune system. She utilizes a mouse model of immune-mediated preterm birth to study alterations in cytokines throughout gestation in healthy pregnancies as well as those at increased risk for preterm birth. Her goal is to identify targets which can be modified to mitigate risks of preterm birth or serve as biomarkers for impending preterm delivery.
