Leela Shah, B.A., MD/PhD Student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
I am an MD/PhD Student working under Dr. Douglas Dean investigating how prenatal and early life exposures shape white matter development in the brain. My work spans the neonatal period through early childhood and leverages advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques, including diffusion MRI models such as Neurite Orientation Dispersion and Density Imaging and Diffusion Tensor Imaging, as well as structural MRI techniques such as quantitative relaxometry. Clinically, I am interested in pursuing residency in pediatrics and fellowship training in neonatology.
