Dr. Kate L. Wilson, DO, MS, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics specializing in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Michigan. She completed her Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a Pediatrics Residency at the University of Louisville-Norton Children's Hospital and a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Wilson focuses her clinical research on congenital and neonatal infections. She has a special interest in congenital cytomegalovirus infection to which she has dedicated most of her research towards and has been recognized nationally with the 2023 Young Investigator Award by the American Academy of Pediatrics-Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She has closely collaborated with Pediatric Infectious Diseases to co-author numerous infection-related clinical practice guidelines for the Brandon NICU to standardize patient evaluation and management. More recently, Dr. Wilson has dedicated her time to advancing neonatal care through quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes related to central line associated bloodstream infections and late-onset sepsis.
