Jeremy Sandgren, MD PhD, is a physician-scientist neonatologist at the University of Iowa. His research examines the role of iron and the siderophore enterobactin in neonatal sepsis as well as the long-term effects of early life inflammation on health. He uses animal models of disease to answer translational questions to improve neonatal outcomes.
